Don’t forget to join PTO!

Just a friendly reminder to those of you who have not yet joined Landrum PTO to please do so today.  It is EASY….just click here  and you can do it all online! If you are prompted to enter a code, it is “landrum”.

If you would prefer to join in person, we will have paper forms available at both upcoming Orientation nights.  Just stop by the PTO table in the main hallway and you can pay by credit card, check or cash.  Any amount is appreciated!

Joining PTO does NOT mean you have to volunteer at the school.  It is a great way to financially support our school so we can continue to update technology and create a safe, fun and rewarding environment for our students.

Landrum Lions Secret Prowl Program

This program is a fun, simple way to show how much we appreciate the faculty and staff at LMS.  Here’s how you can participate:
  • E-mail secretprowlers1920@gmail.com that you’d like to participate.  In the body of the message please list:  Name, e-mail, mobile number and Landrum student(s) and grade(s).
  • Once we have enough “Prowlers” for the number of staff members, you will receive an e-mail with your assigned staff member (selected randomly), more information about this program and a list of your staff member’s favorite things.
  • Give a token of your appreciation six times throughout the school year, from “your Secret Prowler”.  Gifts are to be turned in to the front office. You will receive an e-mail each time a Prowl gift date is approaching with the gift theme.
  • Estimated total spend per family is $100.
  • You get to reveal who you are at the end of the school year at our “No More ‘Lion'” party.

News from the PTO President

Greetings Landrum Parents,
The Landrum PTO is excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at Landrum Middle School. I hope the summer has left you all feeling relaxed and recharged for the school year ahead. I want to start by welcoming our new families to our wonderful “Lion’s Den” community.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with our organization, we are a volunteer based committee that’s made up of large group of parents and teachers. Our PTO is a dynamic organization, in that it exists to support our school, its faculty, enrich our children’s education, strengthen our sense of community, and enhance student life. We work very closely with our principal, Mr. Player, and the rest of the LMS administration team to provide support for educational/curricula and school enhancement needs.

I am truly humbled at the opportunity to work alongside other LMS, Ocean Palms and PVPV Rawlings mothers this year on our PTO. Some of our board members have served for many years on other PTO’s and some have tremendous knowledge of what has worked well for Landrum in the past. We also have new board members this year, who have brought on an amazing amount of new energy and new ideas.

As you know, the success of the PTO relies heavily on parent participation and family donations. We encourage you all to join us in making this year a success, but also a memorable experience for years to come. It is my promise to you, that the time you either volunteer or the donations you make to our PTO, will be worth your while – and FUN!

With the monies raised this year through PTO membership, Landrum community events/fundraising and Landrum spirit wear, we will be funding the following needs for our school and campus:
  • Auditorium: Audio/Lighting/Visual Enhancements
  • Licenses for Academic Software
  • Supplement School Curricula for Classrooms
  • Laptops/iPads for Classrooms
  • Teacher Training
  • Outdoor Enhancements on Campus
  • Physical Education Needs
On behalf of the entire PTO board, we would like to thank you all in advance for your support. We look forward to another wonderful school year and to seeing you in the Lions Den!

Warm regards,
Mel Intemann – President, 2018-2020
